Properties: Koukaku/rinkaku single edged great sword.  The blade itself is Koukaku and approximately 6 feet long.  Exceptionally heavy.  Can carve through basically anything due to weight and edge.  The handle can be extracted along with the core of the Quinque, a rinkaku tendril that can be used as a whip.  The Tendril does not have to detach from the blade entirely to activate, allowing for the quinque to be used as a large extendable sword, however the weight of the blade makes this function impossible to use for normal humans.

Properties: One handed sword.  A three and a half foot blade shaped into a drill that is capable of piercing just about anything.  The Koukaku extension on the hand guard is capable of expanding into armor to protect the users arm, shielding them from retaliation as they line up a strike.  The friction of the blade as it spins creates a large amount of heat as well, capable of igniting if used for too long.

Bio: Mr. Vanvelt has always been a bit of a lone wolf. Throughout most of his life he was uninterested in most normal pursuits. He graduated high school and went no further with his education instead following a selection of interest, most predominantly martial arts and cooking. Eventually he began working in various restaurants before something happened to make him give that lifestyle up. After drifting for a year or so he became a bouncer at a local club and began making friends. Eventually Zypher decided to put his combat skills behind something greater than tossing drunk teenagers out on the street and took up work at the CCG as an Investigator.  He is estranged from his family and has worked most of his life after giving up cooking professionally alone.  Recent events have caused Zypher to leave the CCG for fear that he would get caught for various charges such as knowingly harboring a ghoul and negligence.

Personality: Zypher is a fairly laid back individual. He enjoys having fun and messing around during his free time, occasionally playing jokes or snarking at friends as they go about their day to day. He is a fairly optimistic person, generally willing to offer advice or help anyone out even if he has not known them for very long, if at all.  He tries to be as light hearted and accepting as possible but it's clear something pushed him in that direction and he is not keen to look back.  Generally Zypher is cool and collected, with a strong core of internal values that he keeps to in his personal life.  When it comes to combat, Zypher prefers to fight alone.  When teamed together however he will do whatever it takes to protect his allies. He tends to have a fatherly nature towards just about anyone. He's never been married or had kids of his own so he tends to be very lenient when it comes to such things, merely being encouraging instead of demanding.

Recently he has taken a bit of a harsher look and is being more aggressive when it comes to doing what he must to protect others.

Likes:
-Relaxing, preferably while reading something.
-Physical training, be it practicing with his weapon or lifting weights. His favorite activity is swimming.
-Music of basically any kind. He set aside some time to learn how to play the violin at one point.
-Soap operas, however he is exceptionally hesitant to admit such things.
-Older or arcade video games. Often times when off work he would play in arcades.
-Cooking

Dislikes:
-Arrogance, including people who he feels are too serious all the time.

-Having his relaxation time interrupted too many times for no reason.

Madoka Nakano (c)
- Zypher is quite fond of her as a friend and co-worker.  She is perhaps one of the only CCG members he still has absolute faith in.  He sees her as someone he can depend upon and hopes she sees him the same way.  

Sen Kesu (c)
-Although recent events have extremely complicated their relationship, Zypher still sees Sen as someone he can trust, even if he doesn't remember who he used to be.  Zypher hopes one day they can be friends as they were before.

Suke Kesu (c)
-Things have been quite rocky between the two.  Zypher still wishes to remain friendly with him but he is worried that their different views towards Ghouls are simply incompatible.  He still trusts Suke to have his back should he really need it, but would rather avoid needing such a thing of him.

-Zypher's only really met her a few times but she seems nice enough and he definitely would not mind getting to know her better.

Hirako Mizugami (c)
-A known ghoul to Zypher, despite this Zypher still trusts him as he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.  Appreciates it when Hirako gives him information he was not present for regarding certain blond haired assholes.

Mary Genevieve (c)

-After at first being a little put off by her, Zypher's grown quite fond of Mary's antics and unconventional personality.  He finds her a breath of fresh air at times and is just happy to hang around her and listen to her talk.
